Katie would lead him to the Inn. As soon as she entered the doors, she felt the air become tense. Her grey eyes flickered to the small group by the fireplace. They were flicking their fingers; once they did a small ball of fire would form in their hands. They would toss it to one another until the flame burned out. Katie spotted her boss and walked over to her, forgetting her guest right now. When the elderly lady spotted her, she placed her hands on Katie shoulders. Katie could feel the metal from the lady’s rings against her skin. “Oh, Katie! Those awful people are going to set fire to my beautiful Inn!” she cried, making sure the group couldn’t hear her voice, “Tell them to leave. If you do, I’ll overlook the fact that you were late today.” Katie’s eyes became wide. Ah, blackmail. She hated it. Shrugging of her lady’s hands, she walked up to the group, crossing her arms. “Leave. Now.” She stated. Her statement was never meant to com across as rude, it was all she could handle to say at the moment. After the talk she had with her guest, her throat was burning. Of course, the group didn’t know that. They looked form one another and snickered. A tall ma, his breath stinking of alcohol, stood up and towered over her. Then, without any warning, took a swing at her. Katie made a move to duck, but she was too slow. The punch it her square in the stomach. Katie, thrown off by surprise, let her knees hit the floor. The hit left her winded.

Kei stood there at the door for a while, watching the group by the fire.'... thats really not the smartest thing to do' he though to him self. he looked around the inn. to him it looked nice and gave of this warm feel that he found comforting. It sorta reminded him of home when his parents where still alive. He then looked and saw the girl from the tavern walk over to the group now, and say something. His large tall man stood towering over her. moments later he struck her with a blow to the stomach. Kei watched her fall to the floor. this act right here sent something off in kei he suddenly snapped and his eyes went from calm to rage. He then pulled out his staff. he walked over and then with a swift movement Kei swinged his staff with full force at the side of the mans head intending only to hurt the guy.

Katie looked up; her eyes were filled with shock. She never expected someone to come and defend her. Fearing that she was an obstacle to work around, Katie rose to crouch and slowly inched away…It was only when her back touched against the cool surface of the side wall did she relax. The tall man is rubbing his jaw, she noticed, so that must’ve meant that the staff made contact. Katie squinted her eyes and saw a small red mark already starting to show. Apparently, this man could take a hit too. Tucking her knees underneath her, she spotted something odd about the tall mans stance. He wasn’t leaning in like most people do; instead part of his weight was on his back heel. He was thinking of retreating. One more hit. Just one more and he’ll probably run away…The others would most likely followed. Katie bit her bottom lip, hoping that Kei would make contact with another hit.

Kei stood there at the man with a cold deathglare. "Leave... now..." his words where just as cold as his glare but, calm."You where asked to leave." . this time instead of him pausing for the words as if he was looking for them, they came out quickly but where spoken slighly slow. he shifted the pole in his hands, moving it to the left one and then back to the right. He had no patience at the moment, and he was holding back his anger with no problem. he just let him self vent slowly with the Death glare he was giving.

Katie watched with a small sense of awe when Kei demanded the small group to leave once more. The tall man, rubbing his jaw, gave a dark scowl to him before heading towards the door. The smirks fell off the faces of the group behind him as they followed their leader. On their way out, however, Katie spotted two younger ones of the group whisper to one another and muffle a giggle…She just shrugged it off. Bringing herself to full height, Katie walked over to Kei with a small smile. Just when she opened her mouth to say something-her boss butted in. “Oh, my! What a brave young man you are! All that trouble just to save my little inn.” Katie gave a small frown when the lady waved a jeweled hand in her direction. “I’ll have Katie here set you up one of our finest rooms as a gift for doing such a brave thing.” With that said, Katie’s boss then dashed out of the room and into the kitchen, making sure that everything was running smoothly. Katie stood there looking at Kei, her face a blank. “Shall we go?” she asked, clasping her hands together.

Kei watched the group leave. once they where out the door his glare went back to the normal look he always had. soon this Lady came over telling him how brave he was. he just looked at her and blinked the entire time.once she was finished she dashed way. now Katie talked and he looked at her " i do not wish for a fine room, a normal one... that i can pay with my own expense" he said pausing awhile after she talked. but this time his words alitte more fluent, and he said more this time. he really didn't believe in getting things better for doing good. he only did things like that for his own self, knowing he did something kind was good enough for him. his eyes remained locked on to Katie, his expression looked as if nothing at all had just happend... as if he was oblivious to all that had happened his entire life.

Katie raised a brow at his response, but still said nothing. Nodding her head, she led him up a flight of stairs and down one hallway. Pulling out a ring of keys, Katie pulled an oddly shaped key and slid it into the lock. Katie quickly checked the room before opening the door all the way to see if it was clean. Looking Kei in the eyes, she gestured towards the room and held out the key for him to take. Although she didn’t say anything, she could feel intense pain of where she was hit. It was already beginning to get red, but she turned her head away from Kei, hoping that he wouldn’t see it.

Kei reached out and took a hold of the key with his hand. his eyes first locked onto the room then at her. Noticing that her head was turned. He tilted his head slightly and kept a heavy yet emotionless look on her...

Katie remained silent, waiting for him to enter. In all honesty, she was growing impatient. It was when the guest placed his heavy look on her, did she smell the fire. Katie quickly walked up to the stairs, her eyes widening once she realized what was going on.
The lobby was already ablaze. By chance, Katie glanced down to see two small lines of fire crawl up the side of the stairs-no sooner when she spotted them, did they grow in size in a flash.
With a small yelp, she jumped back, raising her arms to protect herself form the flames that nearly licked her legs. Slowly, she opened one eye and standing there was the leader form before. To his left was what she assumed to be the second in charge.
Without thinking, Katie dashed up the last flight of stairs, the younger boy flicking flames at her feet. The leader, on the other hand, created a wall of flames-trapping Kei on the current floor. “It’s such a shame to see such a nice Inn go into flames…But, you see, I have a very high reputation to uphold.” He teased, pulling out two curved swords

Kei's eyes widened. fire.... oh the fire.... how that orange flame brought back memories. he stood there frozen unable to move. the flame seemed to taunt him , dancing mocking. the flash of when he was younger came back. the fire that killed his parents. in side he began to panic.
