The wind was icy just like she had liked it. The light smell of a snow coming it had made Serenity sigh. It had been so long since she had left. However no matter where she went the mountains always seemed like home. Giving comfort to the pain she felt all the time now.
Sitting on the face of the mountain in the cold snow it didn't seem to bother her at all. The sorrow plastered on her face. Her wolf like ears laying back against her head as she started to remember again. How they had first met on a mountain range much like this one, but that was a long time ago. Farther away now, but farther away.
It had been at least two years since she was forced to leave. Her brother having attacked her and Shimo a long time ago. In her human form she was so helpless and the guilt was nearly to much to bear. She couldn't remember much from that night but what she did wasn't pleasant. The flash of Shimo's lifeless body among the flames she didn't even know how she ended up safely outside of the manor.
Serenity shook her head that memories just too much. Feeling more and more so like she had left him down as she raised her head. Looking out into the thick icy fog that forms before a snow. "Shimo" She whispered softly into the winds.

He sighed, taking a swig from the water pouch at his side. He’d been traveling now for what seemed forever. Jumping from island to island until he came to the one he was at now. He went to the mountains as soon as he could, it was just too warm anywhere else.
He looked up the side of the mountain, he was so close to where the snow began… there was still a lot of hiking he needed to do.
He’d heard a rumor that the demoness Lriania had fled here. He wanted payback. Had she not been around, he’d still be with Serenity.
He cursed her and the pact she’d made with Dire. It was his fault, both of their faults.
He remembered the mansion burning, the pain, the heat, fire… he wasn’t even sure how he managed to get out. He just remembered waking up in the snow and Serenity was gone.
“Damn them both,” he growled, standing to his feet and looking up the face of the mountain once more.
Lriania. The Queen of Ice and demoness that he once talked to through his sword, she was once a friend. Now nothing more than a figure of hatred, she would feel his wrath. She would pay… and when he found her, she would tell him where Dire was and he would die as well.
He dug the walking stick he had into the frozen ground before him and started up the mountain once more, taking his first step into the snow on the mountain’s side.

The light snow had started as Serenity stirred from her daze. This was how she spent her life now wondering around just thinking. Dazing off whenever left to herself for too long. No matter how much of the land there was to discover she always found herself returning to the mountains. It was a foolish mission but it brought small comfort.
The snow having covered her hair in a thin layer of sparkling snow as she stood. Not even caring to shake the flakes free as she stood. Her cloak barley around her seeing no point in trying to stay warm.
Turning to move back down the path she wanted to get somewhere less exposed should the storm get any worse.
It wasn't very long as Serenity walked along that the storm did pick up. The winds that were once soft and welcoming were now violent and harsh. The light snow turning heavier as she carried on. Fighting against the snow and wind.

Shimo followed the path up. It had begun to snow and it seemed to be getting heavier the farther up he went.
He wondered to himself if the snowstorm was Lriania’s doing. If she was even here, could it be possible she knew he was coming? He shrugged it off. It didn’t matter to him if she knew or not.
The storm got even worst as he continued on. It didn’t bother him at all; he’d weathered worst storms than this in Chioni. He continued on without the storm doing much to slow his pace.
He’d walked for about 10 minutes before he noticed the figure further up the path. He paused for a moment squinting through the snow and wind. There was no way it was Lriania, had it been her, the storm wouldn’t be touching her. With that clarified he continued his ascent.

Serenity hadn't noticed the other figure coming toward her. This was something that was happening more and more often. she was completely distracted by her thoughts. No matter how much of her was a demon she was still human and the distraction was not good for her.
That perhaps being the reason she didn't even sense the danger as she took a step. The ground coming out from under her as she slipped into one of the many caverns among the mountains. Giving a surprised scream as she fell down just managing to grab the edge of the hole she had fallen into. Using her nails to clinging to the wall as she yelled for help knowing it was useless to do so but she still yelled out of reaction.

Shimo had spent the past few minutes with his head down to keep the wind from biting into his eye. He’d looked up every few moments to make sure he wasn’t wandering from the path. It was during one of these moments he saw the figure before him vanish.
“Shit,” he dropped his walking stick and started to run up to where he last saw the figure.
He was certain whomever it was they must’ve fallen, and this wasn’t the kind of weather to be taking a nap in the snow, unless you of course were an ice elf.
Or that damned demoness Lriania.
As he got closer, he heard the screams for help. Now he was certain and he picked up his pace, enough that he almost didn’t see the hole in the ground before him. He skidded to a halt and teetered on the edge for a moment before regaining his balance and taking a step back. He looked down into the hole and found what he was looking for, a woman clinging to the edge... a familiar woman.
“No… there’s no way…” he thought to himself, running around the hole an crouching down to grab the wrist of one of her arm.
He was closer now and could really see her… it was her. His Serenity was alive and here.
“Grab my hand, I’m going to need your help to get you out!” Shimo yelled over the wind, hoping she could hear him.

Serenity struggled until she felt the hand at her wrist. She couldn't see through the snow and darkness who it was but she didn't care. As long as they pulled her up she had no complaints.
Hearing the voice she shook her head.
It is happening again... you need to stop this she said referring to the fact the voice sounded like Shimo.
Gripping the strangers hand she dug her feet into the icy wall for traction. Trying to climb out but luck was just not on her side today. The wall cracking that her foot was one as well as the edge her helpers was leaning over.
Before Serenity could even yell for him to get back the whole side had collapsed in causing both of them to fall into the cavern. It was a long fall but the cavern did get dark fast or was it the fact Serenity hit the ground first. Her head hitting something as the stranger fell on top of her.
Not even having time to think as she blacked out from the strike of her head against the icy floor of the cavern they had fallen into.

“Oh!” Shimo managed to let out before the ground beneath him gave way. He wasn’t prepared for it and fell into the darkness.
He landed hard, half of him over Serenity, the other half hitting the cavern floor. He’d fallen face first, and had managed to keep his head up so that he wouldn’t hit it off the floor. His legs however weren’t so lucky. They both hit hard and he was sure one of them broke when it hit a rock.
However, he was on Serenity, and she wasn’t moving. He pushed himself up, flinching when he tried to move his left leg and managed to get into a sitting position, his injured leg splayed out awkwardly.
He couldn’t see anything and if he wanted to help Serenity he needed to see. Luckily for both of them, he still had his traveling bag over his shoulder. He slid it off and set it in his lap to dig through. He pulled a silver oil lantern and the silver item he used to spark a flame and lit the wick in the lantern, a blue flame sprung to life in the lantern and Shimo found a rock to set it on. The blue flame was bright despite the strange color and gave off a soft blue light.
Shimo swore under his breath when he saw the state Serenity was in, but she couldn’t stay where she was due to the storm above. With a little maneuvering and some sharp protests from his injured leg he managed to pick her up and move her to where the snow would no longer fall on her. He pulled his bedroll from his pack and put it under her head to prop it, feeling the blood there. He removed his cape and laid it over her and began digging around in his bag for bandages. Once he found them, he began to bandage her head, hoping that this wasn’t an injury she’d never wake from.
Once he was finished he sat back and began to look at his own injuries, pulling the boot off his injured leg and rolling his pant leg up. There was a large purple bruise over the bone and it hurt to touch, but it didn’t feel broken. He silently thanked whatever deity was kind enough to keep his leg from being broken.
He rolled his pant leg back down, not bothering to put the boot back on… from the looks of things the storm still visible through the hole wasn’t letting up anytime soon.

Serenity was out to world. Not even noticing the movements as Shimo arranged her away from the hole and falling snow. Dreaming lightly in her forced sleep Serenity's tail would move and her ears twitch every so often.
It was however a good hour or so before she groaned. Coming out of the sleep and feeling completely the pain in her head. The throbbing nearly too much for her to bear. Awake but unable to open her eyes she felt the ice beneath her body and remembered the fall all to well.
Shifting her hand up to touch her head she felt the cloak over her. Having to open her eyes now to see who was with her. Trying to sit up now to look around herself which wasn't a good idea as she fell back down with an annoyed growl at herself.

Shimo had spent the time Serenity was asleep exploring the area they’d fallen into. It appeared the cave branched off into other places that he wasn’t about to explore. As it was he had to use the wall to help him walk, his leg was cooperating.
He’d gone back to where he was sitting before, near Serenity and was thinking of what to do next when she started to stir.
“I wouldn’t move too much. You have a pretty bad injury. Give it some time,” he said softly as he sat and watched her. He couldn’t believe that it was actually her laying before him… he had so many questions, but they could wait. Right now she needed to rest.
