Serenity fell back with a slight gasp, but the surprise wore off. That voice was painfully familiar but things like this had happened to her before.
"I am dreaming again aren't I?" She asked not even bothering to look at him. The disappointment she thought would be to great at this point.
"Because I know that voice, and you can't be him." She said finally with a thick sound of sorrow in her voice as she closed her eyes to keep a tear from falling.

It broke his heart to hear the sorrow in her voice. With the pain he’d felt over the years at his loss of Serenity being numbed by his quest for revenge he hadn’t realized how much it must’ve hurt her.
“You’re not dreaming… unless of course we’re both having the same dream…” he said moving closer to her and taking her hand, “I’m here, and I’m real my beloved Serenity.”

Opening her eyes as she felt his cold hand Serenity nearly did cry seeing his face in the lighting of the cavern. Only Shimo could have such a cold touch.
Looking up at him she smiled brightly and her body found the strength to move as she jumped up partly. Embracing him tightly resting her head against his shoulder.
"It really is you Shimo... I thought you were dead." She confessed her voice choked up as if trying to fight back the tears now.

He held her, stroking her hair, “I almost was dead… I don’t even know how I got out of the mansion…”
He took her shoulders and moved her gently away from him so that he could look at her, taking her chin and tipping it upward.
“All that matters is that I’m alive now,” he said, leaning down and kissing her.

Serenity just nodded as he remarked about him being alive. In all truth that was all that mattered. After believing he was dead for nearly two years it was like a great relief washing over her. He was alive.
Feeling the chill of his lips against hers, Serenity could only return his kiss. It was like a dream but she could feel it all. Having missed his kisses she leaned into a little.
Serenity brought her hands up to his neck. Her fingers twisting in his hair softly as they kissed. Pulling away slightly she smiled at him.
"That is all that matters." She remarked.

He smiled down at her, as much as he wanted to stay there forever with her in his arms, they needed to find a way out of this cavern.
He kissed her one more time, “Serenity you need to get some rest, and I need to try and find a way out of here… I don’t want to have found you after so long just to lose you again.”
He stroked her hair once more before letting go of her. It was hard, one of the hardest thing he’d ever done, letting her go the way he just did. He maneuvered himself so that he was in an easier place to stand. His leg was starting to feel better, but it still protested if there was too much weight on it. He stood, leaning against the wall to keep as much weight off his injured leg and reached down to grab his pack.
“I won’t go far… just want to see if there’s anything edible down here…” he said looking at her and slinging the pack over his shoulder.

Serenity just nodded her smile fading slightly as he said about him leaving. She didn't want him to go but Shimo was right they needed to find a way out. Knowing these mountains it would be ages before they found their way out. Should they happen upon some kind of wrong turn.
These mountains were littered with tunnels and carven. It was just scary to think where they all might lead to.
The pain in her head returning as Shimo left her. His scent still in close range that was a comfort as she rested back. Having to close her eyes to stop the carven from spinning.

He really didn’t want to leave Serenity behind, but what he wanted was not nearly as important as what needed to be done.
He grabbed a torch from his bag and lit it with the blue flame from the lantern, using the wall to help him walk. He silently cursed himself for dropping his walking stick. It would’ve been a lot of help right now.
He stood for a moment trying to decide what to take with him and what to leave behind. He eventually decided to leave some food and water for Serenity and to take the rest of the contents of his bag with him. One never knew when they would need some of the stuff he carried in his bag.
He sent one last glance back to Serenity before heading into the tunnel before him.

It wasn't long after Shimo left that Serenity could no longer hold still. Having to open her eyes she could still smell is scent. Still now she forced herself to sit up. She felt useless in this condition and she hated it. The full moon as close so her demonic powers were growing slightly weaker.
Staring down the long dark tunnels Serenity had to stand she couldn't bring herself to lay still a moment longer as she started to pace slightly. Having to stop every few moments to close her eyes. Her head still aching from the fall. Glancing down the tunnel Shimo had disappeared down every so often just waiting to see him appear.

Shimo was alone once more as he hobbled down the tunnel. He didn’t like the cold emptiness of being alone, but he needed to explore these tunnels if for nothing more than Serenity’s sake.
They went much further than he thought, and he didn’t want to get too far. He stopped when the tunnel split, one path heading upward, another path heading down. He’d passed another cave through his wandering; this one was warmer than the one they were in now, it would be better for Serenity.
He turned and started to head back. His leg was really beginning to hurt when he thought he heard something. He froze, doing nothing but listening. Much to his dismay, however, he didn’t hear the sound again.
It wasn’t much longer before he returned to the cave Serenity was in. He half sat, half fell next to Serenity, “The tunnels go pretty far back, but I think I found a warmer place for us to stay.”
