He smiled. She was doing a horrible job covering up what she was feeling. He was glad that he wouldn't have to figure out more than he needed to tonight, though.
He lied himself behind her, putting one arm around her uninjured side of her waist, and the other on top of her arm, near her shoulder. That shirt of hers couldn't have been very warm, so he hoped his body heat helped.
"Sleep well, Ski," he said as he watched the back of her head, not quite ready to sleep yet.

Ski was more then thankful for the warmth. After being in the water it was awful chilly. Besides laying with him seemed to put the pain out of her mind as she drifted into sleep so easy for some reason. Her hand finding one of his as she was half sleep she held it tightly before dirfting completely off.
Sleeping completely through the night it was peaceful but sometime during the night she had gained a fever, a high one at that.

Sirion looked at her face as she slept. She was flushed. He put a hand to her forehead like he was taught to long ago by the town healers. She was burning up. It worried Sirion, but he didn't want to wake her up. She needed all the rest she could get. He didn't want to get up, either, as he was a source of warmth to her. Sirion got a bit frustrated and just held onto her a bit tighter, putting his forehead against the back of her head, hoping for the best...

It was nice laying in his arms but even though she was so warm and his body added to it she was shivering once the sun had started to come up. Her side was burning but she cold barely react to it. Her body was feeling so weak and tired she couldn't even wake up even though the morning was coming and moving into a later mid morning. Her hand falling form his sometime during the early morning as she began to shiver.

"Ski...? Ski? Ski...! Ski! Can you hear me?" He shouted quietly, shaking her to see if he could wake her up. No luck. He cursed his inability to see things like this before they happened.
Her wound must've got infected... Let's see, Mother, how did it go again... he thought to himself as he searched through the small sack he'd been carrying with him. He pulled out some herbs, quickly grinding them and mixing them with water as he read a recipe he had jotted down. Soon he had it. A cure for wound infections that his mother had taught him long ago, along with antidotes and the like.
He rushed the small bowl over to her, moving her arm so he could see the wound. He put a little of the mixture along the wound gently, then put her on her back and tapped her on the cheek.
"Ski, I need you to wake up, just long enough for you to drink this, c'mon..." he said, shaking her slightly. Odds were that the salve would have a minor effect, but it was best when applied both internally and externally. He hoped she could hear him...

Ski could hear him but she was so sleepy she didn't want to wake up. Though she could feel him touch her when he put something on her wound. It stung a little and she flinched feeling it. Hearing his voice she was trying to open her eyes but it wasn't working to well. Hearing his words again she forced her eyes open slightly glancing at him lightly. Letting him know she would at least try to drink but this was making her so very tired.

"Ski, you're running a fever, a bad one, I don't want to tire you, but please drink this..." he said, raising the stone bowl of greenish watery paste to her lips, tipping it over slowly so she could go at her own paste. It would taste bad, but it'd clear the fever within minutes. The beauty of Elven Herbology, he thought. He wished he had taken more time to learn it, but time did not allow for it back then. He waited for her to drink, hoping she would...

Ski tried to drink it at first but she coudln't for some reason. then slowly she managed to take it in. Drinking slowly until it was all gone. She hardly noticed the taste at all. She was so weak as she laid there, but she still managed to reach for his hand not wanting him to leave her at all until the fever broke.

He took her hand, setting the bowl aside then sitting next to her, grabbing her hand with his other one as well. He felt kind of sorry for her and angry for himself for ignoring the wound like he did, but hopefully this would make it better, and hopefully speed the healing process.
"Don't worry, Ski. I'm here for you," he said soothingly.

Hearing his words brought some comfort as he held her hand. It was nice even though she was suffering. It was about an hour before her fever broke longer then what it should have taken. Still it had work none the less. Opening her eyes she looked at Sirion and smiled at him warmly. She was still feeling awfully weak but at least she was awake that was a good thing after all. her side still hurt a great deal, but that was alright.
