"Don't be. A single glance would tell you those men only talk big. Their posture is lazy, their armor is shoddy and not worn right... Their blades are even worn wrong. Even one of these guards of the town could take them on and win. No, they're nothing to be scared of, just an intimidation tool is all. One thing's for sure though..." he said, "We can't travel outside for the remainder of the night, and if we kill them, your father will know for sure where we are."
He looked outside through a small window, then closed the wooden shutters so no one could see inside.
"We may have to go with my original idea tomorrow. If that's fine with you," he said, closing his eyes for a moment, "... For now, we should rest. Seeing as we cannot agree upon who gets the bed, we will have to share it. Worry not, though, I have no intention of doing anything to you tonight," he said, reopening his eyes, "Would that be acceptable? The back room has a lock, so even if they decided to show up again, they wouldn't be able to get in before I could arm myself, so don't worry about that."

won't do anything to you tonight?[i/] she thought to herself what did he mean by that?
Ski was asking herself not really sure if he was trying to be funny again or just slipped up on his words. She sighed she didn't want him to go alone but there really wasn't much she could do about it now. Things had been forced this way fate really was taking charge now.
Same thing with the sleep arragnments. Though she didn't really want to be in bed with him it made sense seeing as she would feel safer.
"Fine." was all she really said walking into the back room just waiting for him to enter. Looking at the bed she thought it best if she was on the inside since if anyone did enter he could have a clear break to his weapons and the person.
Sliding into the bed just after removing her shoes she laid on her side facing the wall as to give him as much room as possible.

Sirion thought to himself.
I probably could have worded that better...
He sighed, then was just grateful that, according to her reaction, she found him to be trustworthy enough. He grabbed a blade and set it next to the bed, then removed his shoes and laid himself down. It was time to rest now.
"I'm sorry if that sounded wrong. I just wanted to settle any worries ahead of time. Judging by your reaction to my story earlier, I figured I'd state I had no intentions of wrong-doing beforehand, was all. That's all," he said, eyes now shut.

Ski was kind of shocked. Was it that clear she thought it sounded wrong as well. turning slightly she really didn't say anything as she looked at him. It was confusing now. no one had ever come to her aid before and here this guy was, someone she had just met and he was protecting her. Sirion had already done so much it was unbelievable at this point.
Cuddling close to his side Ski drapped her arm over his chest.
"Just promise me you will be careful tomorrow. I don't want you to get hurt." she said softly as she closed her eyes.

"You have my word, Ski. I couldn't possibly let anything happen to myself," he said, "because if something were to happen to me, there would be no way for me to protect you afterwards."
He grabbed her hand.
"I promise I'll return to you tomorrow, no matter what. In return, promise me you'll stay safe here and won't let anything happen to you while I'm away, alright?"

she didn't want him to go alone at least if she was with him there would be no worrying. She would be able to tell just what was going on. Still she was going to make a promise and that she wouldn't break.
"I promise I won't leave here until you return." she said thankful for his hand now as she slipped off to sleep so quickly now. Her body still worn from the battle before and that magic gone wrong. laying partly on Sirion she difted into sleep so easily.

Sirion smiled as he felt her fall asleep. He was happy that his presence calmed her so.
He didn't really sleep. It was something he inherited from his father. The bed came with the building was all. Instead of sleeping, Sirion passed away long periods of time through meditation, but with the way he was laying, he couldn't do that. So for the remainder of the night, he simply enjoyed Ski's company. The warmth of her body felt nice.
Daybreak came sooner than Sirion had expected, and sooner than he wanted for that matter. As soon as dawn hit, he slipped away from her grasp, running his hand through her hair before equipping his armor and blade. It was time to finish this and move on. For the sake of his sense of needing duties, and for the sake of Skilynn's safety.
He sighed once he was finished. He didn't want to just leave, he felt like that wasn't enough. Just in case something did happen. In case he wasn't able to keep his promise. He felt like he should do something more, but didn't know what. So he sighed, and focused on the task at hand. He pulled out a whetstone, and began sharpening his blade. It would need all the edge it could possibly have for what was about to happen...

Ski slept surprisingly well. Perhapse it was because she felt safe for the first time in her life. Enough to sleep through the night instead of catching small cat naps in a dark alley never very sure just what might happen.
She stirred lightly as Sirion ran his hand through her hair but she didn't wake at all. It wasn't until she heard the sharpening of his sword that she opened her eyes slightly. Watching him for a long time before saying anything.
"It is that time already?" she asked softly really hoping it wasn't. she had a bad feeling about all of this.

"Unfortunately, yes. After I'm done with this, and then after a quick stretch, I'm going off to inform the commander of the watch about our new plan. Sorry, I wish I could stay longer too..." he said, putting away the stone, then standing and taking a few swings at the air, getting his muscles ready for the coming battle, "I wish there was something more I could do. If I'm not back by noon, then please start off towards the next town without me, alright?" he said, suddenly having slight doubts about the mission. Judging by the competence of their guard, and by the lack of information on the enemy, it was possible he might fail. But still, the most of him was optimistic, hoping the rest of the vampires were like the ones that raided the town before.
"Will you be alright here?" he asked, sheathing his blade. He was ready to leave, but he didn't want to leave without asking her that.

Ski sat up not really wanting this to take place. Even though she didn't have the fear of failing now, she still wanted to go. This attack was bought about because she had interffered. Still there was nothing that could be done now.
Nodding she just simply replied with, "Yes, I will be alright." she said waiting for him to leave. her eyes following him as he left just letting Sirion walk out. Waiting until his hand just turned the door knob she rushed at him hugging him from behind.
"I really don't want you to go... It doesn't feel right." she confessed him about her awful feeling.
